What is a penetration test?
A penetration test is an authorized attempt to break into your systems the way an attacker would, so you learn which weaknesses are actually exploitable and what they would expose.
Automated scanners produce long lists. A penetration test answers a narrower and more useful question: what could someone actually do with these weaknesses?
Testing is carried out by an OSCP-certified consultant who works the way an attacker would, confirming findings by hand and chaining smaller weaknesses together to show what they lead to. The result is a report that separates what is exploitable from what is noise.
Every test ends with reporting written for two audiences: an executive summary for leadership, and technical findings with a prioritized remediation plan for the people who will fix them.
Who needs it?
- A business launching or changing a customer-facing web application or API
- A company asked by a customer, insurer or auditor for a recent penetration test
- A team that wants to know what an automated scan missed
- An organization moving systems to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
What problems does it address?
- Scanner reports full of findings with no sense of which ones are exploitable
- A customer or contract that requires an independent test
- Weaknesses that look minor alone but chain together into real access
- Not knowing what an attacker on the internet can see
What we test
- Web applications
- Networks and infrastructure
- Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Mobile applications (iOS and Android)
- APIs
Methodology
Engagements follow OSSTMM, PTES and OWASP guidance. Automated tools find the candidates, and findings are confirmed by hand, so the report shows real, demonstrated impact rather than scanner output.
What you receive
- An executive summary leadership can read quickly
- Technical findings your engineers can reproduce and fix
- A prioritized remediation plan
What happens afterward?
You get a prioritized remediation plan. Avertix can guide your team or IT provider through the fixes and retest the findings, so you can show a customer or auditor that they were resolved.
How the engagement works
Free consultation
A 45-minute call with a senior consultant about your situation. It is a conversation, not an assessment. You leave with a recommended next step.
Scope and rules
Scope, constraints and price are agreed in writing before any work starts.
The work
Carried out by the senior consultant who scoped it.
Report and walkthrough
Findings ranked by business risk, with a walkthrough for the people who will act on them.
