What is GRC advisory?
GRC advisory is help building and running the governance, risk and compliance side of security: deciding which risks matter, writing the policies, mapping your controls to a framework and preparing for an audit.
Most compliance work fails in one of two ways. Either it produces a binder that satisfies an auditor once and is never opened again, or it copies a framework so literally that the controls do not fit the business.
GRC advisory aims for the middle. We help you choose the framework that fits your customers and obligations, assess the risks that actually apply, and write policies and controls your people can follow. Requirements are translated into business language, so leadership understands not only what needs fixing but why it matters.
Whether you are working toward a first certification or maturing an existing program, the work is scoped to where you are now.
Who needs it?
- A business pursuing its first certification, such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2
- A company whose customers now ask for proof of security controls
- An organization with a framework in place that needs to mature it
- Leadership that needs security risk reported in business terms
What problems does it address?
- A customer contract or tender that requires a recognized framework
- Policies that exist on paper but do not match how the business works
- An upcoming audit with no clear picture of the gaps
- Security risk that the board or owners cannot see
Frameworks we work with
- NIST CSF and NIST 800-53
- ISO 27001 and 27002
- SOC 2 Type I and Type II
- HIPAA
- PCI DSS 4.0
What you receive
- Risk assessments and treatment plans
- Policies and procedures
- Control mapping and gap analysis
- Audit readiness and remediation support
- Board-level risk reporting
What happens afterward?
The work continues on the scope and cadence you agreed. Findings that need fixing can move to Remediation Guidance & Retesting, and a fresh assessment can check progress.
How the engagement works
Free consultation
A 45-minute call with a senior consultant about your situation. It is a conversation, not an assessment. You leave with a recommended next step.
Agree the scope
What we cover, how often and how much time, agreed in writing up front.
Ongoing work
The same senior consultant works with you each time, so you are not re-explaining your environment.
Reporting
Regular reporting written for leadership, and useful to an auditor or insurer who asks how security is handled.
